1. Who sells and how

Smart Little Guides is run by Emerson Junior Ramos, 42 rue de Hedange, L-3840 Schifflange, Luxembourg (support@smartlittleguides.com). Our guides are digital PDF files. Orders, payment, invoices and delivery are handled by Gumroad, Inc. on smartlittleguides.gumroad.com. Gumroad acts as merchant of record for these sales: it collects the payment and the VAT and sends you the receipt. Gumroad’s own terms of service also apply to the checkout.

2. Products

Each guide is a downloadable PDF, in English, French, German or Portuguese. The product page shows the number of pages, format (A4), contents and the language. Nothing is sent by post. To use a guide you need a device that opens PDF files (for example Adobe Acrobat Reader); fillable fields work best in Acrobat Reader.

Some guides are free (“€0+”): you can download them at no cost or choose to pay what you want.

3. Prices and VAT

Prices are in euros. On our pages they are shown without VAT, for example “€7.90 + VAT”, because the VAT rate depends on your country. Gumroad calculates the VAT of your country and shows the final total, VAT included, at checkout before you pay. You pay the amount shown at checkout; there are no delivery costs.

4. Order and delivery

You place your order and pay on Gumroad. The contract is concluded when Gumroad confirms your payment. You then get a download link straight away on screen and by email, together with a receipt.

5. Immediate access and right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

As a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, this right ends once the download has started, if you have given your express consent and acknowledgement (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU).

By completing your purchase, you expressly request immediate access to the digital download and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the download starts. This notice is shown on each product page before you buy, and it is repeated in your Gumroad receipt as a written confirmation.

If you have not yet started the download, you can still withdraw within 14 days of your purchase: write to support@smartlittleguides.com or reply to your Gumroad receipt, stating the product and order date.

6. Refunds and faulty files

Because the guides are delivered instantly, we do not give refunds once a guide has been downloaded, for example if you change your mind.

This does not affect your legal rights. If a file is faulty, does not open, is incomplete or is not as described, write to support@smartlittleguides.com (or reply to your receipt). We will first send you a corrected file, free of charge and within a reasonable time. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, the problem comes back, or the fault is serious, you are entitled to a proportionate price reduction or, unless the fault is minor, a full refund (Article 14 of Directive (EU) 2019/770 on digital content). Refunds are made through Gumroad, to the original payment method, including the VAT paid.

Duplicate or unauthorised payments are always refunded.

7. Licence: personal use

When you buy or download a guide, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for yourself and your household. You may print it as many times as you need and use it on your own devices.

You may not resell, share, upload, give away or distribute the files (paid or free), in whole or in part, or use them for commercial purposes, without our written permission. All rights remain with Emerson Junior Ramos / Smart Little Guides.

8. No professional advice

Our guides are practical tools for organising everyday life. They are not financial, legal or tax advice.

9. Questions and complaints

Write to support@smartlittleguides.com. If we cannot solve a problem together, you can contact the Luxembourg consumer mediator, Service national du Médiateur de la consommation (mediateurconsommation.public.lu), or the consumer body in your country.

10. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Luxembourg law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country.
